At WPMS, we know that growth doesn't just occur inside the classroom. Serving others and offering opportunities to engage with members of our community is essential to our education principles. Our middle school Panthers have many opportunities to connect, learn, and grow through service activities and interactions with other community members. These are just a few ways that our students engage with the community:
Three students in Mr. Honeycutt’s STEAM class had the idea this year to do a project that benefited another community. They decided to partner with a school in Eldoret, Kenya to raise money to help create a library for Twins Bright Academy, a school that WPMS has worked with in the past. As part of their STEAM class they formed the "Kenya Read Project" and created bookmarks that they will be selling soon and are offering coffee, tea, and treats to staff members twice a week for a donation. Their hope is to raise more than $1,000 to contribute to Twins Bright Academy’s library for their students and orphans within their community. You can learn more about the project here.
