Woodland Park Middle School is hosting Career Café Conversations for our students on Wednesdays during lunch from 11:40-12:10 between February 21 and May 15. If you have a career journey that you would like to share with our middle schoolers, we would love to host you for a lunchtime conversation so you can engage with them about your career experience.

We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible growth and accomplishments of our Middle School Athletics program during the 23-24 school year under the direction of Mr. Kettler, Athletic Director!
Here are just a few highlights:
New Programs Added: This year, we introduced cheer and softball clubs to our lineup for middle schoolers!
10% Student Participation Increase: The participation percentage of athletes as compared to our total enrollment has grown by 10% compared to last year! It's heartwarming to see so many students getting involved and embracing the spirit of sportsmanship not only from WPMS, but also Merit Academy, local homeschooled students, and our 6th grade boys and girls basketball players.
97.6% Athlete Eligibility Rate: Academic success is a top priority, and we are proud to announce a remarkable 97.6% athlete eligibility rate this year. Our student-athletes are not only excelling on the field but also in the classroom, showcasing their dedication to both academics and athletics.
State Championships: Ten of our Cross Country athletes represented WPMS at the Colorado State Middle School State Cross Country Championships this year and two of them finished in the Top 10 of 171 runners state-wide!
Future Goals: Our journey doesn't stop here. We have ambitious plans for next year, including an integration of cheer and softball into our CHSAA Tri-County League and we’ve got our sights set on adding soccer and baseball programs!
Thank you to our dedicated coaches, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our incredible student-athletes for making WPMS Athletics a beacon of growth and success. Together, we are shaping a legacy of sportsmanship, perseverance, and achievement. Here's to many more victories on and off the field!
WMPS is pleased to continue offering Afterschool Academic Assistance every Tuesday and Thursday in the library from 3:20 to 4:20. Teachers are available to help students complete assignments and understand new concepts. Students can also make up or complete checkpoints, cooldowns, projects, PFA study guides, and assessments. It's open to all students, and no reservation is needed. We highly recommend that students who are off track in one or more classes attend.

Hosted by WPMS for ALL ages!
Joins us if you want to learn to sew, learn new skills, or work on your projects. Sewing fabric, machines, and tools will be available to use or you can bring your own. Bring your own lunch and snacks.

Woodland Park Middle School is celebrating our 2022/2023 CMAS scores that earned the Woodland Park School District the highest rating of Distinction in the Student Performance Framework.
In English Language Arts:
● In 7th grade, WPSD exceeded the state's mean scores and the percentage of students who meet or exceed benchmarks.
● In 8th grade, WPSD (45.2%) scored higher in 2023 than the state (42.4%) in the percentage of students that met expectations. Eighth graders also scored higher than the state mean score.
In Mathematics:
● 6th graders have brought their math scaled scores back up to pre-pandemic scores.
● 7th graders achieved a 12-point scaled score increase in math.
● 8th graders achieved a six-point increase in math scores.
In Science:
● 8th graders achieved 41.7%, exceeding the state (31.3%).
Overall Woodland Park Middle School:
● Earned the highest SPF point total among all schools.
● Received a "Distinction" rating for academic growth and achievement, with 84.1% Academic Growth.
We're proud of our accomplishments and continue to strengthen our academic performance!
