2024 Summer Bridge @ WPSD

June 3rd - June 25th, 2024

8:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday – Thursday @ Woodland Park High School

Summer Bridge Registration Form - The last day to register is 5/31/2024

What is Summer Bridge? Summer Bridge is an in-person learning opportunity for students who need extra time to master grade-level standards and recapture credits. During this academic program, students will continue to build positive learning habits as they continue grade-level academic work. During this time teachers will be proctoring exams, running workshops, and providing instruction as needed for the students; however, summer bridge courses are self-paced, so students may work on their courses at any time of the day but are expected to be in person during summer bridge hours.

What classes are available during Summer Bridge?

There are 3 main options for courses in summer school.

  1. Credit Recovery
    • Credit recovery courses are designed for students who have a “Not Yet” as the final grade for a class.

    • Credit recovery courses are completed online through Edgenuity, and our on-site teachers assist students as they complete the courses.

    • Credit recovery courses can be assigned to recapture credits as a continuation of a REAL Platform class or a Standards Based Grading course.

    • Students who successfully complete a credit recovery class will see a C on their transcript instead of a Not Yet. Grade changes will occur in the fall with the building registrar.

    • Students will work through one course at a time during summer bridge. Upon successful completion of a course, the student may begin another.

    • Cost per course: $50

  2. Original Credit
    • Original Credit classes are available for students who have not taken the course previously

    • Original Credit classes are completed through our online program, Edgenuity

    • See the WPHS course catalog for a list of available online courses

    • Cost per original credit course: $250 per 0.5 credit class (semester course).

  3. English/Math Enrichment
    • English/Math Enrichment classes are for 8th graders rising to 9th grade and are meant to help get students further prepare for high school

    • This opportunity is excellent for incoming freshmen, especially those struggling in Math or Language Arts, to get ready for integrated Math 1 and/or English 9 in high school.

    • Cost per course: $50

Bussing

There will be a bus available for those in need of transportation from Divide, CO. Each morning of summer bridge, a bus will pick up summer bridge students from Summit Elementary School at 8 a.m. and deliver them to the high school.
