Blended Learning

The Blended Learning Academy challenges and empowers students to become active learners through a combination of face-to-face and online instruction. During blended learning courses, students will experience a reduction in the amount of time spent in a traditional classroom setting while continuing to learn through active, independent learning facilitated by the teacher. This format allows students more flexibility and control over when they choose to learn. In addition, the blended learning structure exposes students to the online learning environments they are likely to experience in college as well as the workplace.

Students best served through a blended learning format are students who are self starters, possess time management skills, advocate for themselves, and feel comfortable communicating through the use of technology. A variety of courses will be available to students and included in their customized learning plan.

To be considered for the Blended Learning Academy, students must complete the following application, obtain the required signatures, and submit the application to their counselor.

The Real Learning Experience

REAL LEARNING will fundamentally change the way teachers, students, school leaders, and families experience education. It will turn children who weren't excited about school into ones who can't stop talking about it the moment they leave the classroom. It will help them understand what they are learning, why they are learning and how they learn best. Students will be able to advocate for themselves, know their passions and interests, and have a long-term goal and plan rooted in these passions and interests. All while vastly improving test scores and college-acceptance rates.

REAL LEARNING gives every student support from a caring mentor, life skills that they can apply to real-world situations, an ability to use self-direction to develop self-confidence, understand their own strengths and weaknesses, and prepare themselves for life after graduation.
