Technology Philosophy
Gateway students—kinder through 6th grade—have access to technology as a tool to increase learning. Each student is assigned a chromebook for in school use. In our technology use here at school, we focus on teaching students how to use technology responsibly and authentically. They solve math problems, they write and revise, they collaborate, they research, and they build presentations. Our goal is not to shy away from technology and not to give it undue status, but rather to make the most of this valuable tool so that our students leave us with an ability and awareness of the appropriate use of technology. We want students to see technology as a useful tool, not the only tool.
Internet Access
Internet access is available as an instructional tool at Gateway. Parents who wish for their child to have access to the Internet will need to sign the District's Acceptable Use Agreement and the Gateway Students Rules for Using the Internet form.
